Aivero at 4YFN / MWC Barcelona
Through our participation in RobotUnion, Aivero had the chance to participate in the 4YFN event during this year’s edition of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The 4YFN (4 Years From Now) is an event during the MWC that targets startups and the tech ecosystem in Europe.
Aivero had a small exhibition stand in Hall M8 in Fira Montjuïc near Barcelona’s Plaça d’Espanya.
The Hall M8 was filled with hundreds of startups from all over the world. Whilst the main event MWC targets mobile technology, the 4YFN event welcomes tech startups focusing on a wide range of applications.
Focusing on vision and depth video it was particularly interesting to see in both MWC and 4YFN the number of companies exhibiting solutions with embedded vision, various applications using depth cameras for 3D imagery and several demos of industrial usage of VR and AR technology.
Participating in Barcelona was fruitful generating several interesting leads – both from potential customers and investors. Having a stand also allowed a more in-depth talk with curious bypassers interested in our company our depth video streaming technology.
Highlights from the conference includes; seeing the launch of Microsoft’s new Azure Kinect time of flight sensor, establishing contact with a large US corporation and visiting Intel’s booth that showcased the use of depth vision for robotics using an ABB YuMi and Intel RealSense stereoscopic cameras.
